What is SOI-HITS?
SOI-HITS is focused on the reduction of both energy consumption and waste gas emissions.
How will this be achieved?
By moving the control sensing elements into the harsh areas not normally accessible to conventional electronics.
Increasing the number of sensors available for control.
What is novel about the programme?
Multiple sensing devices will be packaged into one part, (gas, RH, temp, flow …)
Device will be able to operate at much higher temperatures than normal silicon devices
(to 225 degrees celsius).
Alternative measurement methods (UV flame detection, IR gas sensing).
Alternative packaging (lower cost organic)
